The Baroque Palace

Throughout centuries the palace adopted different roles:

• It originally housed Mining Office (1733);
• 1735 Military Registry;
• Until 1848 official residence of Timis County;
• Between 1849 - 1860 the leadership of the Serbian Vojvodina and Banat Timişana;
• 1861 - 1918 Timis County regained residence;
• 1944 Timiş County's Prefecture;
• Between 1944 - 1958 headquarters of Soviet troops stationed in the city;
• The Agronomy Institute;
• Currently, the palace houses the Museum of Art Timisoara.
